Awards - Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency

Awards - Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency

February 18, 2021

The Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Technologies (REEETs) award is sponsored by GOSE, UNDP and the British Embassy in Eritrea. The aim is to promote a new generation of renewable energy technologies to support Eritrea’s Adaptation & Resilience to Climate Change. The Awards celebrate and recognise innovative energy technologies, inspiring individuals and enterprises to contribute to a Net-Zero Carbon Future in Eritrea and beyond.

It is expected the award enhances awareness of the benefits of small-scale and efficient renewable energy technologies, and the challenges and opportunities for their expansion in the country, thus promoting sustainable development.

The Awards are to celebrate the forthcoming session of the Conference of the Parties (COP26), the global conference on Climate Change, November 2021, in Glasgow, UK in partnership with Italy.

Women applicants are highly encouraged, and additional points/weight will be given in the evaluation of the technologies for women innovator competitors.
